Exclusively The Undercroft

Full of character and history dating back to 1850, The Undercroft is a truly unique Lake District delight.

Originally Windermere's first school, this stunning contemporary cottage has been created within a slate annex to St Mary's Church. Vaulted ceilings enclose luxurious, modern comforts, and the stunning Gothic arched window frames beautiful Lake District scenery.

Guests can enjoy the abundance of shops, cafes, bars and restaurants in Windermere's town centre which is only five minutes away on foot. Beautiful Grasmere, Grizedale Forest, Beatrix Potter World, the Lakeland Motor Musuem, Muncaster Castle and many more attractions are all within easy reach. Lake Windermere itself offers water sports, fishing or you can take a relaxing steamboat trip on the lake. Walks and cycle routes abound in the area with many beginning directly from the door, so no driving required!

After a day of adventure or leisure, The Undercroft's secluded garden is a wonderful place to wind down, or guests can relax in style in the airy first floor living room. The fully equipped kitchen and contemporary dining area can even make eating in feel special. The Undercroft is ideal for couples or families up to five with its king size master bedroom and en suite, separate bathroom and twin room with additional sofa bed.
